The little girl who does the voice of Kai-lan is a 10 yr old adoptee from China. You can read more about her here http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=591289
The layout of the show is very similar to Dora the Explorer, but instead of stressing the Spanish language and culture, the emphasis is on Mandarin and many aspects of Chinese culture. Other goals of the show are to teach manners and the importance of family respect…sounds good to me!
These are pictures of the girls doing the dragon dance with Kai-Lan.

These girls will indeed be multi-cultural! We will love them no matter which culture they embrace! You know that we will make sure that they are TEXANS first and foremost. Keep up the good work. We love seeing them in their everyday activities. Love, Aunt Muh
I am friends with PandaMom and just love to read about your two little ones. They are just precious. That really is neat that they have a show on that will help them learn about their own culture! :)
