HE KNOWS MY NAME

We sang this song yesterday in church and it really touched my heart. I couldn’t help relating it to our little Doodlebug. As you read through the lyrics, I hope you’ll see what I mean.

HE KNOWS MY NAME
Words and Music by Tommy Walker 1996 Doulos Publishing
I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in His hands
Chorus
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call
I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
Chorus
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and He hears me when I call

Not only will Doodlebug have a new earthly mommy and daddy, I am praying that she will someday have a personal relationship with her heavenly Father and that she will understand the true meaning of adoption. After all, He’s known her all along.

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Jeremiah 29:11

For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Thy works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from Thee, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. Psalm 139:13-16

Love this song, in fact I have it playing on my blog! I did a post the other day about how God called us to adopt (see blog), and how that song really hit me during the wait. Still brings tears to my eyes!

Stop by and give it a listen! It's the last song on my player.

He knows your name too! Your idea to adopt Doodelbug was His idea. The plans of God are sure and can not be stopped. I believe God will give you the love and grace you need to help your whole family bring doodelbug in and help her feel safe and loved. I hope you can travel soon.

I could hear this song a million times and I would still cry. It touches me more than any song because it makes me think of my daughter and all of the other baby girls in China who are waiting on their forever families.
Praying for your sweet Doodlebug.
