A ROYAL BEGINNING...

Today we celebrated the beginning of 2008, royally. Her Royal Highness, Princess Darling and the Honorable Princess Doodlebug were our special guests. They decided that they would join our New Year’s meal dressed as princesses, so why not? I think they were probably just making the statement that they didn’t wanted to be treated any differently in 2008 than they had been in 2007. Lol (Nothing less than the best for these two little darlings!) Of course, I know that ham, black-eyed peas, broccoli, scalloped potatoes, and cornbread would only be considered a royal meal in the south, but the girls really enjoyed it! (I guess it beats the pb&j, ck noodle soup, or hamburger helper they normally get…Lol!)
After waiting over two years to bring DB home from China, we are so glad to be starting the new year with her. She has made so much progress since joining our family in August. I hope that 2008 will be her happiest year so far!
God blessed our family tremendously in 2007.
We have so much to be thankful for.
May we be careful to remember that He is the King and deserving of our honor and praise in 2008. Happy New Year!

Oh how fun! My daughter would fit right in with your two. She is all about being a princess 24/7. I am so blessed to have met you through our blogs. It has been a blessing following your journey to bring Doodlebug home this past year. God is good and He was faithful to bring her home to just the right family. You have a beautiful family. God Bless You.

Happy New Year Darling family! Sorry, MD, that you were under the weather :( , but it seems that DB & DD had things taken care of, LOL! Looks as if you all had a wonderful holiday; complete now with DB home at last. Love your family photos, very special. If not for the blogs I'd feel so out of touch. Why can't TX be closer to NY? BTW, 70 degrees? Oh sigh...it'll be 5 months before we see those temps again, BRRRR!!!

Hi there,

Happy, Happy 2008!!

Catching up...dealing with all kinds of fun things at the Firecracker house. My sister hopefully gets her casts off on Friday! Looking forward to meeting up with y'all--let's get it on the calendar. I will call you next week when I know for certain my poor sister will no longer have her casts on.

Hope you are all on the mend from your bug you had over the holidays.

What a blessed year this will be, your family is home and together!!

Hugs from us!

Beth and Grace
